Drum Circle Journey w/ Sacred Sounds

The drum is an ancient sound healing instrument that can invoke powerful meditative journeys.

Drumming opens our energy centers, grounds us, cleanses us and helps us destress by releasing endorphins and serotonin.

Julie and Lauren of Sacred Sounds invite you to join for a powerful, intentional experience of vibration to celebrate the 14th anniversary of the Yoga Tree!

They will guide the group in a collaborative drum circle (drums, rattles, chapaka leaves, voice, etc.) to release stuck energy, move stagnant energy and feel empowered in creating sounds.

The experience will conclude with you getting cozy to receive a powerful guided shamanic drum journey by Julie and Lauren.

Participants are highly encouraged to bring along any instruments to use during the group collaboration and anything to maximize comfort while laying down for an extended period at the end (yoga mat, pillow, blanket, eye mask).

Chakras are the main energy sources of the subtle body. Literally meaning 'wheel' in Sanskrit, these 7 power centers line up along the vertical axis of the body.

Starting at the pelvic floor and moving to the crown of the head, each center corresponds with major nerve bundles and organs as well as emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being .

When healthy, they spin rapidly to continuously receive and release Prana (universal energy).

In this special 60 minute class, we will use asana, mantra and breathwork to connect with and balance each Chakra.

You'll leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to take on whatever the weekend has in store for you.

This hour long beat-based class will begin with 40 minutes of strong, energetic yoga postures and low-intesity, high impact aerobic exercises to tone your body and make you sweat!

The final 20 minutes of class will balance your hard work with a deep stretch featuring:

  • cork massage balls for a deep myofascial release

  • Muscle Melt Massage Oil to help your sore muscles recover

  • A relaxing savasana that will send you into a space of bliss

This upbeat, rhythm based-class combines elements of vinyasa flow and yoga postures with low-intesity, high impact aerobic exercises and light weights to spice up your yoga practice, work up a sweat and tone your body.

You'll find balance after all of that challenging work as you melt into some yummy restorative + yin postures, ending with a well-deserved savasana.
